We’re changing routines and working our bodies and reaching a plateau. It’s time to stick to it and fight through it to reach Sept 20.
Don’t let anyone kid you that training for anything is easy. It’s not that it’s always hard, it’s just not easy.
Not easy because it requires change. Change to routines and change to bodies. Change is challenging. I have to be careful because it’s easy to say that something is difficult. To wrap that handle on it. The challenge is figuring out why it’s difficult and breaking it down into digestible pieces so it’s not hard.
Right now our training is getting harder. It’s more uncomfortable because we’re tired and trying new things and foregoing things that are our routine.
Personally, I find it difficult to share the challenges. I’d rather just push through them but sometimes it helps to know what other people are going through. Especially as you’re slugging through the same. It’s much easier to say here’s the week, it was blah, blah, blah… And now that I’ve worked through a difficult day or week to slap a difficult tag on it and move on. To find whatever it is that makes it digestible and move on. To not ruminate, not dwell. So here it is, we all have tough days. This is one of mine/ours. Sorry for the rant.
Work is busy, life is busy, we’re pushing our envelope. It’s not fun to have to forego one thing for another. But it’s life. It is what it is. I always look at it as being blessed with choices. (Even if sometimes the choices are a pain.) We have to focus on the target – to have a fun, busy summer and reach Sept 20 ready for 13.1. There are usually some cool and creative ways to get where we need to go. Today we’re both having a hard time finding them. I know they’re there. That later or tomorrow they will just appear.
Today I have to share that it’s tiring somedays.
Good thing it’s a running day off :)!
But we’ll be gentle with ourselves today so we can hit that long run tomorrow…
