Bad Timing for a Cold

Cold fighting supplies

Is there ever good timing? Nope, probably not.

Have to laugh at our collection of meds. Yup, we shop Walgreen’s sales for cold meds. I actually have this really cool netti pot that’s a squeeze bottle with a straw to draw from the bottom… Love it!!!

I’ve been fighting a cold for a couple weeks. Must not have juiced enough because it landed in full force this morning. We’re running a 4 mile on Saturday so I did a little research to see whether I should run today.

After a long day of work, I threw in the towel.

Just.Wiped.Out.

For future reference and in case you’re wondering…

Should you run with a cold? Here’s a great article from Runner’s World that says exactly what I found from 5 other sources. Basically, draw a line at your neck. If your symptoms are above, running is fine (sure tell that to my nose that’s running like a faucet). If below, take a break.

Since things are quickly moving south, the chills and general lousy feeling had me taking a day off (did slip in my leg exercises so not a complete loss). Tomorrow will be a cross day on  the bike.

Tomorrow is another day. Hopefully the netti pot, vitamins and some green juice in the morning will beat this cold in no time!

Ok, it’s time for my sister-inlaw’s recommendation of Wild Turkey American Honey… should put me right to sleep. Take this coughing! At least my red nose is festive, right?
