Day 183 looks like….
Love, Joy, Thankful, Perspective, Celebration and Peace (kind of)
It’s been a while, life has been full and busy… and focused…
When you’re prepping for a bone marrow transplant, they talk about Day 100. It’s a milestone. Something to hang your hopes and motivation on. Day 100. You know how I love a goal…
Everyone’s BMT journey is different and depends on many factors – your illness, age, medical history, type of transplant, etc.
I’m more excited about this Day 183, six month victory. Day 100 was a little deflating… spending it in the Club and all.
Day 183 looks more like recovery than our Day 100 did. It looks more like hope and joy and thankfulness, it looks more like the shining light of love and a different kind of peace.
Still fighting the liver gvhd good fight. “Third times the charm” treatment has counts slowly headed down, I pray for all things in due time. It’s certainly easier to battle this gvhd battle when you’re feeling good. Youngest is feeling good. They’ve started the steroid taper. We’ve been warned it may be a little painful and grouchy. We’re hanging on to the feeling good.
Six months, well really 10 months, or maybe a year depending on which milestone you’re marking. Doesn’t really matter, it’s a target, something to celebrate.
We’re celebrating!
