Firefighting. What those brave people do who face life and death challenges.
It’s amazing that most are volunteers.
It’s been a little over two months of firefighting.
Of facing something we don’t really understand on a physical or spiritual level.
Of fighting this battle life has presented.
Of trying to digest and manage the day-to-day of supporting Youngest to put out this fire and reach the wellness side of this crazy life challenge.
Of the emergency management that comes with a firefight.
At some point it goes from emergency management, firefighting if you will, to life adjusted. The what people will call your “new normal.”
When you’re fighting that fire – in the thick of it – this amazing support structure erupts to help get you through the fire, the emergency. It’s the love and people and prayers that get you through the unimaginable.
It is truly amazing.
And it does… lift you up, give you strength, gets you through the initial fire.
Because you need that… because you have no idea what to do or how to do it… so you lean on that support and it helps to let you get through it, to battle the fire.
To help you to learn how to manage it… to create a new normal… to work through this sudden, catastrophic change…
These days have me continuously saying how lucky and blessed we are… or maybe it just seems to be continuous… we’re lucky to have people in our life, and people who have entered our life, letting us get to that new normal.
People… lovely, wonderful people… some we barely knew or maybe didn’t, who shared of themselves to raise us to face this fire fight.
Thank you.
