The good news is… we did!!! (whooo-hoo)
Over the past year, I lost 5 pounds…. well, actually reached 10 but the holiday slide meant… 5-7 consistently. Partial victory! My weight oscillates, so claiming a conservative victory was something I could hang onto.
We have been eating better and trying some new recipes. I’ll share some over this year.
Here’s the beauty… nothing drastic, nothing painful. The biggest help was having some gentle reminders to buy more vege’s and to throw that chicken in the oven instead of ordering that enticing pizza.
We also worked hard on exercising more. I think that was a little harder. What made it easier was that we did it together, as a couple, as a family. Lifestyle changes impact everyone… impossible to do in a vacuum! So we reminded each other and supported each other and it was fun… even when it might not have been.
This year. the healthy life snowball is continues to grow! Since a goal is easier to reach with some concrete plans here are a couple:
- Make one meat-free meal a week. This is going to be a challenge. We both grew up in meat & potatoes homes. But anything worth doing… So I’ll let you know how we make out.
- Keep walking and running. We’re training for a half.
- Start weight training. This is new and I’m excited.
The hardest part is building it into our day, that’s where doing it together helps! Nice perk is that it’s actually brought us closer together! Another things we can do together.
Balance is tough, so send some positive vibes… We need them!
Anything is easier with baby steps. We made some small changes last year that have stuck. And we can see the results. Feel better, look better, all good! Now time for a few more until these become a habit. I just wish it only took 28 days like they say!
Let the snowball keep rolling and growing…
