Catching up a little here…
We’ve run our local Ronald McDonald 5K for a few years now. It’s a fun run and a great fundraiser with good swag and a fun after party.
This year Porter & I ran together. He’s helping me get faster 🙂 I love it.
The run is a Buffalo city run around Elmwood village; starting and ending at the Ronald McDonald house on West Ferry. A road route, being a popular run it starts congested and clears out after about a quarter mile. Pretty flat, except for that hill up Delaware near the end. Every year that seeming small incline is such a hurdle…
The finish is full of clapping and cheering, just a fun way to wrap a warm summer evening 5K.
They have the space and layout to host a Buffalo-style after party at the Ronald McDonald House. Of course, there’s burgers but fruit, yogurt, chips, … you get it, they make sure you are well fed.
The band keeps you moving through your cool down, dinner and a beer or two. With Flying Bison and Labatts, everyone’s beer palate is catered too.
This run is a favorite of local running clubs; it hits all the highs of good run, good cause, good swag and good after party.
Ohh.. almost forgot swag is usually a nice running hat :). Love novel, useful swag!
Looking forward to next year.
