It’s interesting to chat about when you run. Why do you run when you run? Where do you run?
It’s winter and living in the northeast, although the days are getting longer, most years there are a couple days or weeks when the snow and ice makes it difficult to run outside.
At first thought, here I was going to type that I’m kind of a chicken. In some areas, yup that’s 100% true. On running, it’s like skiing… the goal is to get to the next day basically unscathed. There are few places outside I’ll run when it’s dark. Why? Pretty much because after watching drivers along the routes I run text or what ever with their smart phones, repeatedly – my schedule right now is pretty flexible. With flexibility comes choice. My choice is saftey.
This year, my runs are mostly mid-day. I love to wake up and write or get rolling into my day. While running in the morning is better for my day, I need to change my routine to work back to that. It’s much easier when the days are lighter for longer.
