Thankful for Fast Healing

Thank God It's Friday wordsThis week I’m thankful for fast healing! Ha. This past Wednesday while making spit pea soup from our yummy Easter ham bone, my thumb got in the way. I’m not usually clumsy but it was slippery and that thumb just got in the way.

I know TMI… sorry that’s how this post will go.

Of course, I had recently commented to Porter that the knives needed sharpening and he was right on top of that one!

It really wasn’t bad, but awkward. Because of my hands it’s difficult to bandage anything… it doesn’t dry out enough to close if it’s under a bandage. I tried the glue but it didn’t work either. Headed back to the pharmacy for steri-strips. Why they package them the way they do is a mystery. Box of 30 in sterile 10 packs. I needed 1/4 of 1. Another of lifes mysteries.

It’s interesting the cool products they have… that don’t really work on my silly hands (and feet). The uniqueness of each of us keeps things interesting!

Our bodies healing properties are amazing if you think about it. From a deep gash to almost closed in three days. In my past experience working with seniors, it amazed me how even compromised immune systems were able to heal. Like the EverReady Bunny, our bodies just keep working and working.

Automatically… it just happens. Wow we are truly awesome creatures.

And something to be thankful for…

Definitely need a pair of those chain cutting gloves. Wondered why you might wear them… lesson learned!

What’s your TGIF?
