After our foot of the white stuff on Monday morning, today I’m thankful for the Peace of Snowfall.
There are a few runs at our local ski spot that are lined with tall evergreen trees. We usually finish the night with these runs because if there has been any snowfall, they’re beautiful and peaceful. It’s a gift to end the night with these runs.
While it creates havoc for driving and your schedule in general, the peacefulness of a fresh snowfall is a wonder. The quiet, the beauty and the stillness.
The world stops.
OK, maybe only your part of the world. And maybe only for an hour or two.
A snow day is that infrequently occurring yet much needed day of rest. When your world stops for enough time to give you a break.
No over-optimism here. The reality is that it’s only a day of rest if you have a good plow service and that is a function of just how much snow has actually fallen and how badly you need to be someplace. But the change of focus is a peace and is restful. If only for your mind.
Today I’m thankful for the Peace of Snowfall.
What’s your TGIF?
