Whoo Hoot, it’s great to be back training! Here’s the first Training Update of the year…
Skiing last Sunday gave us great conditions. It was a shorter night than I had hoped for mainly because we both slept lousy the night before and we were beat. Skiing is great cross training for your quads. It fills that cross box weekends in Jan & Feb for us. Love it. Love being outside with friends. You have to be on the careful side early in the season though, especially with new boarders. Control isn’t always theirs! 🙂 Our goal for skiing is to have fun and be where we need to be on Monday.Â
After work on Monday was yoga. I love yoga, it makes me feel great! There are a couple local places I just love. For me the key is the right teacher, in the right class. With the winter weather, I’ve opted from some classes at a spot close to home. So excited now that my foot is feeling better. It was a good class, not exactly what I was looking for. Â Personally, a slower hot class is my best fit class for now. It helps my muscles and sweating is something your body just needs… to clean out. This class wasn’t that but we’ll find it.
Tuesday was a 2.5 mile treadmill run (5, incline=2).
Wednesday turned out to be a day off, mainly because I wanted to swap out the Wednesday for Friday Yoga to try a different class.
Thursday was another 2.5 mile treadmill run.
Friday was an hour of love in the body of a fantastic hot yoga class. It was challenging and hot, relaxing and tiring. Just the right combo.
Saturday was clean the house/wash the floors day. Laugh, because it is kind of funny… Cleaning is a workout and my motivation is to put it under that category.
Sunday was a bit of a fail. When it looked like rain would cancel skiing, came up with a great idea for gifts for an event later in the week for some friends and needed to get them done. While cleaning is definitely a workout, knitting in no way is. But, done and done.
Off to a decent start… 😉
