Last week was a good week training wise.
Monday was another easy yoga day. While I love the class and the start time fits my schedule, I need more of a challenge and am having a difficult time fitting it. This week, we’ll try a Monday day off and yoga on Wednesday to try a different class.
Tuesday was a treadmill run, 2.5 miles. Added a few intervals again.
Wednesday – rest day.
Thursday – Treadmill day, 2.0 miles
Friday – Yoga class – An all levels class, hot and a great fit.
Saturday – Treadmill day, 3.5 miles (5.5/1), Skiing
Sunday – Skiing – Conditions were fantastic, standard couple icy spots but soft and snowy. We had a blast and even got to ski with a friend we don’t usually ski with – excellent. A couple years ago we decided to forego the Big Game festivities for skiing. We have maybe 12 weeks of skiing, in a good year. Fitting in 8 skis can be challenging most years, even with great weather. So we focus Jan & Feb on skiing. The Big Game is one day with short lines and usually good skiing so we’ll skip the festivities and keep skiing.
Overall it was an active week. I feel it this morning. That good, used your body feel. A couple ski runs had my knees tweaking. That always perks up my ears. Slow it down a bit, watch the turns. Victory is to have fun skiing and be where we need to be the next day. We came home Sunday and hit the hot tub. It was cold here, about 13, windy and snowy. If you can get past the momentary freeze of opening the tub, turning on the music and getting in, that’s the hardest part – and it was. The snow and wind made it chilly on our heads, especially our ears. Yikes! It was worth it, my body feels great.
This week taking a Monday rest day is the right choice. 🙂
How’s your training going?
