Not enough running last week, better cross week. Hot yoga re-injured a part in my lower back and leg. Not bad, little Aleve, ice and we’ll see in a couple days. Happy that it doesn’t hurt when I run… no impact to my long run.

From mapmyrun.com…
Started the week with some Ashtanga yoga on Monday (forgot to add it to mapmyrun.com). Felt good and a great way to start the week.
Tuesday was busy… helping Youngest to get ready for school & the new apt. Pushed my run off to the eve and ended up needing to do something. Need to start the habit of just rolling out of bed and into my run.
Hot Yoga class Wednesday was great… except for the re-injury of something in my back and leg. Lateral motion is the issue. We’ll give it a couple days of Aleve, maybe some more ice. This has been an issue for me in the past so I want to know what it is to strengthen supporting muscles to keep from happening again. Darn pigeon pose, think that’s what did it.
Snuck a lunchtime run in Thursday. Really didn’t feel like it, just pushed through it. Was a bit concerned about my back/leg but running doesn’t seem to hurt it (probably doesn’t help but no pain and doesn’t get worst after running). Felt great after! So glad I started.
Friday was a total rest day. Nice.
Saturday was a fine run. My biggest stress with these longer runs is having a potty break about half way. I drink so much water and fluids, need that stop! We live on an island in Western NY, runs are not urban runs with coffee shops or other places to stop. Am thinking about changing that. While I love running along the river, just need to work through this. I will, no worry. Overall better than last week. Felt stronger and didn’t have to negotiate that last mile. Will post details on the long run tomorrow.
Sunday was a running bust. Right after finishing the long run and cleaning up we headed out the door to help Youngest move in his new apartment… big day! Meant an overnight away. Brought my running duds, but between my back and plans to kayak later in the day, skipped the Sunday run. I know excuses, excuses. It was a conscious decision and it was the right one. Was a little concerned about that back pain but no real problems while paddling…. Yea :)!
