Heat drove me to the dreadmill on Tuesday. It wasn’t bad and it got done. 4 miles goes quick. Love that I typed that!!

Yoga on Wednesday was just what I needed. My knee was tweaking a bit before and seems to be OK now. It wasn’t anything that would keep me from running, just need to keep it that way. Was a little sore on Thurday, mostly upper back. We focused on opening our chest… an area I obviously need to work on. A few aches in unusual places. Wakes you up to move and feel that new ache :). For the rest of the day on Wednesday, I could not stop eating. Even ordered a pizza for pickup on the way home from the concert! Thought I should just take my place at the table and not get up! Will have some breakfast before heading out next week! Oops.

Must admit at this point, my biggest fear is injury. Like any good fear, it’s not overwhelming. Just something to be mindful of. I was psyched about this Soaker 7.7K run. It’s different, firemen keep you cool squirting you with H2O. But… We’ll go clap & cheer this year. We’re doing a regular run the week before instead.

Friday 5 mi was OK. Even though a cooler day, lunchtime runs are hot and sunny. Little over 10 minute miles straight, no run/walk. I can live with it, it was so good to be done. Love using MapMyRun iphone app. Was able to change run when didn’t have enough distance reaching close to home. It helped keep me on track for this run.

I’ll do a post on Paddles Up Niagara later in the week. It was a great day. Doing both paddles was probably a little ambitious and we both felt it Sunday morning.

Sunday long run was 9 miles. I am so proud of myself that I started and finished. Besides feeling sore from kayaking, I was having some tummy troubles. Started out anyways. By first mile, needed a potty break. Thankfully, hijacked a Port-a-Potty and was able to finish the run. Felt like a rebel, never done that before but am so thankful. Had been putting to together plans to keep me out of the woods. That Port-a-potty saved me! Thank you neighbor, hope you’re a runner and can understand!
Twisted my left foot on some bad road, thankfully it feels good today. Always try to be careful but was a little preoccupied with my tummy troubles. It was a slower run, little over 11 min/mile maybe because I was tired, sore, it was hot or all three. Whatever, I didn’t feel like it, but I started and finished. Yea!! Needless to say, the rest of the day was a slow one :).

This weeks running will be a little off from the Sunday long run and a Wednesday 5K. We’ll figure it out. Am a little frustrated because it screws up yoga too. It’ll work out.

How is your training going?
