Are you a productive exerciser? I know, it sounds weird.
I’ve talked about my no nonsense approach to exercise. Having a couple great role models (thanks Mom & Grandma), I started exercising when Jane Fonda first came out with her workout video tapes. Yikes, did I just admit that??
If I can build in my day movement that accomplishes something, WIN!
It would not surprise me to hear neighbors (and family)… oh Terry must be trying to get skinny again, she’s (they’re) doing this or that.Right, I’m all about the team… or family. Oh my poor husband!
We live in a development neighborhood. All the homes built within 10 years, on lots of similar size with a few rules. Like so many of these neighborhoods, ours has many homes that hire lawn care, home maintenance, etc.
We belong to the DIY camp… as long as we can.
The reason is simple… it keeps us moving and makes us feel good (ha yes, both from the sense of accomplishment and the feeling from moving). …and it beats spending hours in the gym! (& we’d rather spend our $$ on a good beer or an adventure…)
I’m on another “get skinny,” “be healthy,” “feel good” kick. That means the car gets washed, the garden cared for, etc. We (ok, I) had been waiting to get in shape enough to finish some landscaping we hadn’t gotten around to. It’s a big job and I was afraid about getting half way into the weekend warriorness and bailing.
This was the weekend to start! With the right preparation, we jumped in feet first.
The rain helped us finish (& messed up the after picture), but the three of us slung 6 yards of dirt (which wasn’t quite enough BTW) and as you can see from the pic, the new bed looks great!
The back story is that we were in good enough shape that, yes there were some minor aches and pains, but the WIN is that they were MINOR. Just enough to let you know you are alive!
Feeling satisfied & accomplished!
Planting & stones come next… oh how I am dreading those stones!
What are the results of YOUR productive exercise?
