Hanging In and Trying Beets Today

Juice with Betts
Juice with Beets

Have you started juicing or maybe are an old pro or maybe still a skeptic?

Juicing continues… to go well. Mostly the well part is that we’re still doing it. Ha ha Although my husband will argue, I have ADD. The fact that we’ve I’ve stuck with this means it must be doing something. Truth be told (but don’t tell anyone)… I’m more than a little impatient.

And… I do like juicing. Well maybe like is a strong word. It’s along the lines of running. Not real keen on the actual running part, but I LOVE the runner’s high and the way my body feels afterward. Actually it’s probably just like running. The process of juicing, well it’s a process. The feeling afterward, that’s why I do it.

Interesting… we’re still at mostly once a day. The unusual day we’ll hit twice or not at all. So nothing drastic, a replacement to breakfast. I know, I know… breakfast is the most important meal and all that. Remember we’re about small changes. I’ve never been a big breakfast person, so the juice gets my body rolling. Usually have oatmeal for morning snack. It works for me, now.

This morning we tried beets for the first time. It’s pretty isn’t it? Beets are supposed to cleanse the liver, so we’re cleansing the liver for the next couple days. Why now? Had a tough time finding nice looking organic beets. Finally found some, so here we go…

Beet Concoction

  • 2 Beets with Greens
  • 2 Stalks Celery
  • 4 Carrots
  • 1/2″ – 1″ Ginger
  • 1/2 Lemon (no peel)
  • 1 Apple
  • 1/2 Cucumber

Made about 20oz of juice, just enough for breakfast for 2.

What did you make today?
