Monday mornings were the hardest time of a week for me… for years. No, it wasn’t rooted in a hated boss or job for that matter. I’ve been lucky on that front. It was the switching gears to the work week. From time spent with family and friends. From the non-work to do list.
Don’t we all long for an eternal weekend?
Thankfully, Monday mornings are just fine now. Maybe that’s part of the empty nest? Maybe it’s the quieter weekdays? Whatever, I’ll take it.
No training update… yet. We are running the Turkey Trot… as slow as it may be.
The sprain is taking longer to heal than I had hoped. Note to self… this test of patience is here for a reason. Stop, stop, stop pushing!!
It’s one of those injuries that’s easy to ignore or forget… until you twist just the right way and ouch… catch it again. Oops! That wrong step, the false confidence that it’s better. We’ll see where another week puts it keeping active with things that don’t hurt.
Well… a little yoga is back in the mix, along with my leg exercises. I’m driving Porter crazy doing leg exercises in the hot tub. Why not?
No running yet, but walking.
We took a nice, chilly Sunday morning walk at Beaver Island State Park. The hardest part of injury for me is watching all that fitness slowly circle the drain. Trying to keep that from happening.
Can you see the grass that has sprung up on the beach? Cool. Nature is persistent and tough and strong. Just like us runners!
We ran across some hunters as I was admiring these ducks. They got a good laugh… the ducks are decoys… 🙂
Fall has definitely arrived. The cold, the snow-predicting grey sky. Look at it. My least favorite part of fall. The cold rain that drops all the leaves in the yard. That same rain that keeps us from getting to the items still on our summer to-do list. The days are becoming fewer!
Every year we have items still on the list… In October! This year it’s painting the fence. So you know where you’ll find us…
