TGIF

Yesterday was a good day!

Exercise

My new pedometer should be here today. Lost mine last weekend. It just slid off and is a good find for someone! This time there’ll be a second clip to hopefully keep it with me when it slides off my pocket. It always seems to slide off my pocket. Are you listening designers? Anyways, I’m a competitive enough person that just having the count will send me outside to walk a mile if I haven’t reached 10,000 steps. Great motivation!

Trying to vary my runs. Am almost to the point where joining a running group will be useful. Yesterday did some all-out running on the treadmill. Don’t usually use the incline, set that to 4 and the speed up from 4.5 to 5.5. Definitely need some work on my breathing, want more endurance. Will keep plugging.

Found a jump rope on sale at Dick’s the other day so adding jumping rope yesterday. The force of jumping created some mid-life mom trauma (maybe another post…) and will try it for a couple days to see if the muscles kick in. Love the jump rope. Feel like a kid again. Trying to change it up.

On Thursdays we’ve started heading down to the waterfront to walk a couple miles and enjoy the music at the Thursday in the Harbor concert series. Snuck a couple enjoyable miles in while enjoying the band. This week, we loved the headliner, Fitz & the Tantrum. To our ears, much better than the heavy metal lineup last week.

Eating

Well… We did OK. Ate out last night on the way to Thursday in the Harbor, a local summer concert series. Tried Moe’s Southwest Grill for the first time. As much as Porter really loved it, I was not so enamored. Chipotle Mexican Grill has ruined me for anything else in that genre. I love the restaurants. They’re usually spotless – especially the bathrooms. I love the organic, healthy ingredients. I love that my body feels good after eating there. Sorry I digress. Porter says Chipotle uses too much cilantro, which I love. Oh well. So we ate OK. A taco and some chips each. Bad choice of a sweet tea. Two steps forward, one back…

We had enough self control to skip the beer at the Harbour… so a good food day!

Results

Am down half a pound to 157.5. That wouldn’t seem like such a coup EXCEPT that I’ve been steady at 158 for the past three days. Whoo Hoo!! Feeling pretty darn good!
